I was 14 years old when this came out and I lived in Brixton London and was a dizzy teenage Beatles fan, I remember when " I Wanna Hold Your Hand" came out I lined up outside Broadmead's in Brixton to buy it. I was late for school and got a rollicking ! Before this I had been introduced to Bob Dylan by a friends older brother and eventually returned to listening to more of Bob Dylan's stuff, still, to this day he reigns supreme in my eyes. But "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" is one of my favourite records by The Beatles, there are many more, but this one propels me back to those carefree, happy times and always brings a tear. Bob Dylan mentions this record in his amazing "Murder Most Foul" record... that was so special xxx

Brian Wilson was the genius behind the Beach Boys. Unfortunately, he is also mentally ill. There's a good movie, if you want to better understand the story of the Beach Boys. It's called Love and Mercy.

One of the best reactions I have seen in the 2-3 years I’ve been watching this type of content on UA-cam. (Doesn’t hurt that the Stones have been my favorite band for 51 years now!). One quip - that’s all Keith on lead. Story I heard is that Jagger and Taylor were noodling around trying to figure out a lead breakdown and getting nowhere, when Keith walked into the studio and just ripped off this lead and it fit perfectly!

I just finished listening to your wrap up and agree 💯 that the Stones have what I call an “in your face” attitude and ooze with swagger, and that is the essence of rock and roll to me, and like you, what draws me to the Stones. I see none of that from the Beatles….can you say Yellow Submarine 😂

What a fantastic performance. People say Bob can't sing but what is singing? Is it what notes you can hit or how you give the words a life, meaning, relivance and beauty? For me he is the greatest singer I've ever heard. Long live the legend that is Bob Dylan.

I don't get anything from this concert. First of all, it sounds like it is being performed on Mogadon, so bloody slow and lethargic that it is 🚴. Secondly, it just doesn't capture the essence of the album version with 5 singers doing one vocal part. The part that used to be Roger's. It was his voice that gave it its mood, drama and concept. Here, with an army of singers it doesn't do anything for the song. They have taken away the low register, picked up the feel to make it sound like he is in a fantastic state of mind. Little would you be aware that he is supposed to be half drugged and wasted. Shame. They once were the be 😃st band in the whole world. But I am taking sides here.. And I would go with Roger every time because he is Pink Floyd. He wrote all the lyrics, came up with the concept of Dark Side and the Wall. Gilmour just plays guitar. Very well I must add. His playing is beautiful and sweet. Good luck to them though I don't think they perform anymore do they? I don't want to come across as a naysayer, but that's just how I feel about it. Hi Syed. My, you do come up with some interesting facets of the music and words. Great analysis as usual. I say that every time don't I. Love, Mimi Bordeaux 🚴

Yes....on your points. Especially the point about not wanting to be named with the "baddies". In the end, the vast majority are mere plebes, just observing what's happening within their society. This is not a new idea. Today, even the most liberal of parents sometimes don't understand what their children are doing. However, it's no longer up to them.....For the times are changing.

Wow....I'm reacting to you a year after you left this. How did you project a female onto the palette? You can project kingdoms, empires, etc. onto it. Everything has its time. No one or thing stays relevant or powerful forever. The phrasing isn't a metaphor for a woman. It's for the world. Systems rise and fall. etc. You didn't get that??????? Actually, YOU'RE hilarious! What woman effed you over so much that you made this song about a woman. It isn't about a woman. Fool.

🔥🔥🔥What a BRILLIANT song!!!! Dylan was never on my radar. Not sure when in the 60's Dylan hit the scene but i think when I got into music early 70's Dylan was not on my radar the pop of BCR and what was being played on the pop stations at the time. So glad to have been exposed to this gem!!!!

I recently saw that there are compilations online of the top songs month by month per decade (50s, 60s, etc.). Listening to that, you can get a pretty good sense of how pop music sounded pre-Beatles (and Beach Boys) versus after they both came on the airwaves (1964). The compilations don't play the songs entirely, so it's a pretty good short-hand way to hear how the music changed. You could even do a reaction to one of these.

John and Paul said in their earlier songs it was mainly about the music....the melody and beat rather than the words. The hook and catchy melody and overall sound was what they were looking for. It wasn't until a couple years later into their recording career listening to artists like Bob Dylan that the Beatles in particularly John were inspired to write lyrics with a deeper meaning and depth.

It is nice to hear someone who educates himself on what he is going to review. Your best comment was about the evolution of their music. That is why I always advise Beatle reviewers to do them in chronological order. That way you go on the journey. It was a fabulous time. I cannot tell you what it did to a young kid to find this music.

This was one of the first records I ever bought. I had this little phonograph that played 78, 45, 33-1/3 and 16-2/3 rpm. It had this little speaker on top. It only played mono, of course. But, it got a lot of use in my teen years (1963-1967), which were some of the most amazing years in popular music ever. I played this record over and over and over and over, much to my mom's annoyance.
